Although a “floating city on the ocean” may sound like science fiction, it might in fact be a reality in the not-too-distant future. According to reports, Dalian is currently in the process of building China’s first floating city and the project is expected to be completed by 2014. The floating city will be located off the coast of the Dalian Golden Pebble Beach (大连金石滩黄金海岸) and will have a 5-star hotel, performance hall, 80 yacht villas and 250 yacht berths. The architecture of the entire city is coloured white to make it look like a cloud floating on top of the sea.
