On January 26th of the Chinese New Year, 38 cultural programs will be launched in Guangzhou for the Spring Festival.
Cantonese Opera
Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Troupe, Hong Dou (Red Bean) Cantonese Opera Troupe, Guangdong Puppet Troupe, Guangdong Music Troupe, Guangzhou Drama Troupe and the Guangzhou Ballet Troupe will be highlights of the show. All performances will run from January 16th through February 15th and can be seen in Beilei Theatre. For those wishing to attend the ticket prices range from 50RMB, 100RMB and 150RMB. Group tickets merit a slightly better price. Now considered the best theatre in the city, the new Beilei Theatre has been recently renovated after a four-year project was finally completed. The theatre was initially built in 1984 and has a seat capacity of 1226 seats. The Bei Lei Theatre was built in 1984 and had a 4-year renovation during 2004 to 2008. The new theatre with larger space and advanced facilities has 1,226 seats.
