Crackdown on Illegal Tour Guides in Hainan during National Holiday
Sep 28, 2010 By eChinacities.com

The number of visitors to Hainan is expected to rise significantly during the Golden Week. The Hainan Provincial Tourism Committee stated, “All tourism enterprises, attractions, vehicles and guides in the province would be severely punished if they break regulations according to relevant provisions.” Once complaints are received, local leaders of the relevant regions will shoulder the responsibilities. In addition to fines, detentions or other penalties will be imposed on the illegal tour guides and travel agencies who employ illegal tour guides will be severely punished. Any unlicensed travel agency will be banned once exposed. What’s more, stronger measures will be taken against forced shopping and false advertising.
