During the early hours of February 21, a plane flying from Hefei to Shenzhen was forced to make an emergency landing in Nanchang due to a bomb scare.

The bomb scare was discovered to be fake; the call was made by the boyfriend of a female passenger onboard the plane. Reportedly, the couple in question previously had a fight, causing the woman to run away and catch a plane to Shenzhen. Not wanting his girlfriend to get away, the man then phoned Hefei’s Luogang Airport Security Office and said that his girlfriend was carrying explosives.

The man in question is currently being investigated for the false reporting of dangerous of terroristic information, as well as deliberately disrupting public order.
