Construction will begin this year on Wuhan’s largest park to date, the Zhanggong Embankment Forest Park (张公堤城市森林公园).  The park – which will border on the Yangtze River’s marshlands to the east and the Han River’s marshes to the south-west – will be 23.77 km long and occupy a total land mass of 30.9 square km, making it 67 times larger than Jiefang Park. After completion, the park will feature a green, eco corridor and will connect Xincheng District and Zhucheng District. This new green belt will significantly change the ecological geography of Hankou District, and will provide residents with a great, new spot for relaxing, exercising and escaping the concrete jungle.
