The Polo Sports Park in Gaoxin district will have completed construction in July and will be available for use. The building project includes a service center, an arena for polo games, and a natural park exhibition. As one of the major venues for polo games in the country, the Polo Sports Park is constructed according to the latest standards and outfitted to host all kinds of international polo games. Visitors can also lodge in the comfort of its many five-star hotels. The park is also a major venue for the World Economic Forum (WEF) to be held in Tianjin this summer.
Polo is a team sport that had originated in Macedonia during the reign of Alexander the Great and in Persia during the rule of King Darius I. Polo is also referred to as lacrosse on horseback.
