Construction for Kunming Metro Line 3 has Broken Ground

The highly publicized construction for Kunming metro Line 3 has broken ground this month.  Kunming Metro Company has officially announced a report about the first phase of constructions. It is reported that metro Line 3 is a transit line traversing east to west in the city and travels a total length of 19.54 km; the transit line will start to the west of Shiju station (Migui Railway and Freight Transport Center) and will be destined near East Passenger Transport Center. 19 stations are currently planned for metro Line 3 and trains will start at 5:00 in the morning – the last train will be at 23:00 everyday.

Planned stations along this new transit line are: Shiju station; Xiaoyucun station; Majie station; Mianshan station; Shagouwei station; Xiyuan Lijiaoqiao station; Liangjiahe station; Kunming Sports Stadium station; Xichang Rd station; Yunnan Provincial Museum station; Baihuo Dalou station; Cultural Palace station; Baita Rd station; East Huangcheng Rd station; Dashuying station; Jinma Temple station; Taiping Village station; Hongqiao Village station; East Passenger Transport Center station. Shiju, Xiaoyucun and Majie are above ground stations, and all the rest are underground.
