Civil Airports in Shandong Province to Increase

Recently, the Shandong Government released its ambitious plan to develop civil aviation: by 2015 the number of civil airports will increase from 11 to 20. Also, there will be six Shandong-based airlines, with a total of 160 airplanes in operation, and a passenger throughput amounting to 45 million (double that of 2010) and freight will top 54 tons (80% increase than 2010). Shandong currently has 11 civil airports located at Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Weihai and other major cities.
