According to reports, the first subway line in Chongqing, Metro Line 1 (the section from Jiaochangkou to Shapingba), is about to run trial operation at the end of July. After Two months, Light Rail Line 3 from Liangxiankou to Chang’an Ford will also run a trial operation taking passengers. At the end of this year, both lines will be officially open to traffic. It will take only 20 minutes from Jiefangbei to Shapinba when the line is up and running.
