Chongqing to Build World's Tallest Twin Towers
Apr 20, 2010 By eChinacities.com

Chongqing Development and Reform Commission announced on April 5 they will invest 1 trillion RMB in 323 major projects for infrastructure upgrades around the city. In particular, they will invest 200 million RMB in a high-rise project that aims to become the world's tallest twin tower structure and a landmark building in Nan'an district.

The project is funded by Hong Kong Concord Group and will be constructed on a space measuring 1.4 million square meters. The current plan is to obtain permission to begin construction this year. Records show the tallest twin towers in the world are the Xiamen Twin Towers (620 meters) – although this too is under construction.
