Chinese Visitors to Malaysia Decline by Half Following MH370 Incident
Mar 26, 2014 By eChinacities.com

The MH370 incident is severely affecting the Malaysian tourism industry. Fear over the case of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight combined with the March lull has lead to a significant reduction in the number of Chinese people visiting the region.

Several travel agencies have indicated that in addition to a massive decline in people signing up for tours to the area, travelers are actively avoiding Malaysia Airlines. It’s been estimated that Malaysia will lose between 400,000 to 800,000 Chinese tourists due to the incident, costing the Malaysian tourism industry between four and eight billion RMB.
