Chinese Media: “Facebook Blocked in Iran, Cuba, North Korea, and “Another Country”

China’s ever-trustworthy media machine has done it again; this time failing to admit that Facebook is blocked in the country.

In a news story commenting on the unblocking of Facebook in Myanmar, China’s Ministry of Information and Technology stated “Myanmar have unblocked Facebook which means there are only four countries in the world which ban the website: North Korea, Cuba, Iran and another country.”

The statement, which suggests China’s authorities are either ashamed of their heavily censored internet or believe the people are too stupid to figure what the “other country” is, has already drawn criticism from Chinese netizens, with one blogger stating “people in ‘another country’ are unfortunately forced to tread ‘another path.’”

So next time your friends ask you what you’re up to these days, remember to say “I’m living it up in the utopian paradise of “another country.”
