China’s Outbound Tourism to Reach 100 Million in 2014
Jan 22, 2014 By eChinacities.com

In January this year People’s Daily reported that in 2013 the total number of Chinese citizens who traveled abroad reached 97.3 million. That number is expected to rise in 2014 and break the 100 million mark.

Outbound tourism has seen a dramatic rise in recent years; a decade ago only 29 million people left the country for leisure. The growth in China’s economy over the last 10 years has lead to a much bigger middle class and as such more people are able to afford to travel abroad.
