China's First Museum of Meteorological History Opened in Nanjing

China North Pole Pavilion Meteorological Museum opened at China's ancient observatory site – the North Pole Pavilion, in Nanjing on the morning of March 28th. The China North Pole Pavilion Meteorological Museum is the first one to exhibit the history of meteorology. The North Pole Pavilion in Nanjing has a meteorological history of 1600 years and is the birthplace of modern meteorology. It consists of outdoor and indoor exhibition halls. The outdoor one recreates China’s meteorological history through the exhibition of typical ancient astrolabes, large meteorological relief sculptures and statues of famous figures in meteorology. The indoor exhibition hall includes four halls that exhibit meteorology in ancient times, meteorology in modern times, meteorology in the present time and modern meteorological technology.
