On January 20 the Chinese government announced GDP growth of 7.7% in 2013, this is the lowest it has been since 1999 in the aftermath of the Asian Financial Crisis.
GDP surged to 7.8% during the third quarter from 7.5% in the second and many analysts believed it would halt at 7.6% for the year.
It was also released that the country’s Gini coefficient for 2013 was 0.473 and the annual per capita urban income was 29,547 RMB.
