The People's Republic of China is celebrating its 60th Anniversary on October 1st. Nothing is going to get in the way of this impressive, monolithic parade, not even the rain. Hundreds of thousands of people will gather in Tiananmen Square, where President Hu Jintao will give a keynote speech. A military and mass parade will follow. The mass pageant will involve about 200,000 citizens and 60 floats. On the night of October 31st, a huge fireworks display will be held at the square with senior party and government officials present. If you're not courageous enough to handle the crowds, virtually every TV station across China will be covering the events.
