China Returns 1.25 Million Tons of GM American Corn
Jul 01, 2014 By eChinacities.com

China’s food quality supervision watchdog has sent back 1.25 million tons of corn imported from the US over concerns about genetic modification.

The rejected corn was found to contain the genetically modified strain MIR162, which is apparently banned in China. The port authorities have been implementing increasingly strict measures on imported food since October last year.

China is the world’s fastest growing importer of corn and it’s new stricter safety measures have cost grain companies 427 million USD according to the Wall Street Journal.

They use massive amounts of extremely harmful pesticides and other chemicals, which directly harm the body, but don't allow GM food, which are not regarded as harmful to health at all. Only in China unreasonable stupid things like this happen regularly.

but yu dont understand one single iota. Im not chinese im from Uk native but what u say is very very wrong.U speak about this that china allows these unreasonable things, well what about your nation US and UK that scheme in a different wa.Allowing appauling testosterone to be injected nto animals to make them bulkier and allow cheese grown with spores and GM food ,plus the grain made and modified with animal DNA ,its really despicable that u can say that. Look at the evidence man,100 years ago US and Uk people were skinny and cancer rate was 1% even with meat and dairy as main diet source. Now look around US and the food is worst in the world, and yes regardless i will say its the worst along with Uk . The people are FAT and beyond levels of Obese man, what does this say about fatty tissue in the colon and the toxic build up in their bodies.the toxicity in USA is 10 times more than china man regardless of the chemcials and horrendous way the chinese modify food. But look at the average chinese and he not Fat man,his body is much cleaner than an American Body so if anything i will say its good that china doesnt allow this GM food ointo the country.Gm food and the company monsanto are the worst and yes i will state worst company and policies on the planet. Far worse than Chinas scehemes, hidden nonsense and hippocritical policies

Firstly, I am not from UK and especially not from US. Secondly, in my comment I have just summarised what I heard from some Chinese and saw a few times in the news, but I wrote it a little bit too negative (sorry). In china they may be some strict regulations, but only in develped cities these laws are partly enforced. GM food and pesticides don't even touch the topic of body weight. I don't even know why you are telling me this. I know that USA, UK and my country (Germany) belong to the most obese in the world, but we are not talking about this now. In fact, I love China and I am trying to understand their culture and how they stay thin, even though they have quite a lot of oily foods. In this and many other aspects they are great, but just not in using pesticides... . Next time don't just write some nonsense, but try to unerstand what other people mean.
