China, North Korea and Russia are planning to collaborate and build an ‘international tourism zone’ in the Tumen River Delta.

According to Xinhua, citizens from the three countries will be able to enter the zone without visas and the area will include duty-free shopping.

The move is apparently part of North Korea’s continuing plans to turn itself into a tourist attraction for Chinese tourists.

There are long-term plans for South Korea, Japan and Mongolia to join in the tourism zone via railway, highway and air routes.
