China Leads World by Large Margin in Smoking
Jul 07, 2015 By eChinacities.com

China was the world’s number one smoker nation in 2014 and it wasn’t even close, according to the latest publication of the Tobacco Atlas. Accompanying China in the top ten spots on the smoking index were Russia and the United States, but most of the spots were made up of Asian countries.

Over 5.8 trillion cigarettes alone were smoked globally in 2014, and cigarette consumption in China surpassed that of the next 29 countries added together. At least 276 million people in China classify as regular smokers as indicated by the Tobacco Atlas.

Every year, there are approximately 1.4 million people in China that die from smoking related problems.

You might as well say the same for fast food eaters, or drinkers, or chocolate lovers. What's your point?

Why slit your wrists? Go for something interesting like suicide by line dancing Chinese grandmas. Also, it would make more sense to enjoy smoking like 5 packs a day and then when you get cancer seek out an irate herd of musical geriatrics.

@GeoHistTeacher. 1. I don't smoke. I used to but I quit a while ago. 2. I work in the cancer industry. And while I don't necessarily disagree with you, there are worse ways to die than cancer. Yes, it can be slow and painful for some, but for others it can be very quick and painless. But that's life my friend. Ultimately we don't really have much control over it, even if we think we do.
