China Issues Wanted List of 100 Economic Fugitives
Apr 23, 2015 By eChinacities.com

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection reported that on April 22, China's Interpol office released a list of 100 fugitive personnel wanted for economic crimes. A red notice has been placed on those on the list. A red notice is an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol, which requires member states to extradite fugitives.

Those on the wanted list, mostly office personnel and executives, are suspects in cases of corruption and other crimes. There is evidence that those on the published list have fled the country. The published list is evidence that China has deepened its Operation Skynet sponsored global hunt on corrupt fugitives. The list includes 77 men and 23 women. 48 worked for the Party in government organs and enterprises. They were mainly executives, and other workers including police, accountants, and bank loan officers.

60% are wanted for corruption and bribery. Others are wanted for crimes including embezzlement, contract fraud, fraudulent loans, illegal deposits, and so on. Many are from southeastern coastal areas including Guangdong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu. 40 people on the list are suspected to be in the United States, and 26 are in Canada. Others fled to New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Singapore and other countries.

The chinese article has a table of these fugitives with photos and other details. Warrants for a significant number among these fugitives were issued at around 1998-2003.....
