China Cracks Down on Foreign Television Shows

China’s State Administration of Radio, Film and Television recently announced new rules to limit the number of imported foreign television shows on national television. Under the new regulations, no foreign shows can be aired during prime-time hours (19:00-22:00) and shows cannot run more than 50 episodes in total. Moreover, foreign shows cannot take up more than 25% of the total programming time of any one television station per day.
