When renting a car, a Chinese drivers license is required, so foreigners are advised to hire a local driver. Rental requirements include a passport and a sizable deposit. Visitors are advised to make an advance reservation during holiday periods.
Reference price: Santana 2000: 250 RMB/day, Benz 600: 930 RMB/day. Audi: 450-550/day. A deposit of around 8000-10,000 RMB/day is always required.
