Census Indicates that Shanghai’s Population Growth is Faster than Beijing’s

According to the Shanghai Municipal Statistics Bureau, although the official results of the census won’t be released until April, statistics are already indicating that the speed of Shanghai’s population increase surpasses Beijing’s. According to experts, Shanghai now has a population of around 23 million – far greater than the 20 million always quoted by the media.
