Apr 13, 2016 By eChinacities.com

China’s mobile Internet users are mainly young and earn low salaries, according to a recent survey by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). In 2013, China had 652 million mobile Internet users. 31% were under 24 years old, and 29% were 25 to 30 years old, and 18% were 31 to 35 years old.

23% of China’s mobile Internet users earn less than 1,000 Yuan per month, 10% earn 2,000 to 2,999 Yuan per month, and 19% each 3,000 to 3,999 Yuan. In all, about half of China’s mobile Internet users earn 3,000 Yuan per month or less.

The data collected by CASS makes sense because 33% China’s mobile Internet users are students in high school, vocational high school, university, or technical school. 23% of Chinese students who use mobile Internet are undergraduates, and 20% are in technical school. 31% of China Mobile Internet graduated from high school, vocational school, or technical school students, while 35% of users have a university degree.
