Bus Driver and Passengers Ignore Woman Being Harassed and Beaten

Chinese Netizens have strongly condemned a bus driver and his passengers as a video of a young woman being beaten and dragged off the vehicle, despite her appeals for help, went viral.

22 year old Liu Yue was traveling on a bus in Nanyang when she was harassed by a fellow passenger. She immediately went to the front of the bus to ask the driver to call the police. The driver kept driving and ignored her, as did the other passengers on the bus.

When she tried to call her father, the man pulled her down into a seat and grabbed the phone from her. At that point, another man came forward and asked the driver to stop the bus, which he did. The two men then proceeded to beat her and pushed her to the ground where they left her, unconscious.

Liu’s family worked with the police to catch the first perpetrator, but the second is still at large.

Liu said in a statement to reporters that she was extremely disappointed that in a bus full of passengers, not one came forward to help her.

The suspect has been sentenced to 15 days in jail whilst the bus driver has been suspended pending investigation.

By the way, the drivers in China are so rude ... but the most rude are in South of China where peoples are very very cold and you even can't see a smile on their ugly faces..

Probably she was well dressed by her parents... has an I-phone in her hand showing it to everyone as Chinese girls usually do..... And some angry men for their life, just attacked her. Is happen everywhere in this world and this happen because Chinese girls in special are too much expose all their goods, body, breast, etc... Anywhere you must be careful how you dressing on the street, how you talk, how you want others see you.... Most of Chinese girls just like to show everything what they have or what their parents gave hem... Is a stupid education to grow up your child like this, spoiled . This is why happen all this in China and not only in China, anywhere. And the last phase when she probably desperate asked to call police then her father, just put more pression on that men. Of course, behind all this, the ignorance of Chinese peoples in public area is very common in China. Even a people die, nobody call a ambulance or police as they consider is not their problem..... Very bad attitude. Chinese are so faint-hearted peoples , they accept everything under their eyes...

The thing is, these so called "Chinese netizens" who are quick to condemn the actions of the bus driver and passengers for doing nothing, are the very same people who stand around staring into space taking photos while similar events take place in front of their eyes! It's easy to be tough behind a computer screen. Chinese people are gutless wonders.

Yeah. In New Zealand we only beat babies unconscious or to death. And we have the civility to do such things behind closed doors.

This seems to be a horrible reoccurring event in China. I read many stories of violence against women and nobody helps them. She obviously didn't know these men and asked people around her for help. So many cowards... the bus driver, the passengers, the TWO MEN beating up a woman... Why did they even attack her?
