Building Fever: China Building 87% of the World’s Skyscrapers

According to a report by Xinhua, 87% of skyscrapers currently being built around the world are located in China. Moreover, out of the top 20 tallest buildings in the world ten skyscrapers are in China.

By the end of 2012, China had 470 skyscrapers, was building another 332 and was planning 516 others. It is estimated that by 2022, China will be home to 1318 skyscrapers – 2.3 times more than America’s 536 skyscrapers.
