Cantonese cuisine, Hunanese cuisine, and local ingredients contribute to the exotic dishes you will taste in Guilin. These influences combine to make a distinctive local cuisine known for delicate sweetness and spiciness. The most common method of cooking in Guilin is stir-frying, but steaming and deep-frying are also extensively used, often in combination with one another.

Guilin Mifen (Guilin Rice Noodles) are usually eaten for breakfast or as a between-meal snack. They come in a variety of flavors, with different toppings and methods of preparation.
