Boyfriend’s Photos of “Rubik’s Cube Girlfriend” Go Viral
Mar 25, 2013 By eChinacities.com

On March 19, photos of a female student from Shanghai went viral on Weibo. These weren’t any normal photos though—as the girl’s image was made up using 600 Rubik’s Cubes. The photos show the boy, who is a student at the Shanghai University of Technology, crouching down to pose by the composed image. The boy has said that the stunt was meant as a birthday present for his girlfriend, as it was the first birthday they’d had since they’ve been together. The Rubik’s Cube image took over a month to finish, with each cube costing him five RMB online, meaning the project cost him 3,000 RMB(!). He said that he worked alone to finish the image, and claims that it took him under two minutes to arrange each Rubik’s Cube accordingly.
