Beijing’s Parks are Home to Secret VIP Clubs for China’s Elite

Recently, various Chinese media outlets have been reporting about VIP clubs hidden within many of Beijing’s most famous parks. These clubs are largely frequented by Chinese officials or rented by major companies who host banquets and other special events there.

According to the reports, ordinary people very rarely even enter these clubs, as the minimum expenditure per person is 2000-3000 RMB. Parks that hide these exclusive clubs include Purple Bamboo Park, Beihai Park, Longtan Park and Honglingjin Park.

According to the manager of Longtan Park’s Wanliuge Club, the big draw of the venue is not only its elegant interior but the fact that it’s “safe” from public view.
