It took 16 days of 2014 for Beijing’s PM2.5 levels to reach the kind of levels we saw last year. On January 16 Beijing registered an air quality of over 600, maxing out at 623. It was the first time this year that the readings had even broken the 500 mark. The Beijing Environmental Monitoring Center issued a blue warning this morning to alert citizens of the possible dangers of the smog.
