The long awaited and oft delayed seventh ring road will stretch to nearly 1,000 kilometers in total and will mostly pass through Hebei, provincial transport authorities announced this week.

The Great Beijing Outer Ring Road will pass through Langfang, Zhuozhou, Zhangjiakou and Chengde, making travel between these cities and the capital much more convenient.

The road is expected to be finished by 2017-two years after the original estimate.
