Beijing Taxis May Require Fuel Surcharges
Nov 13, 2009 By eChinacities.com
Beijing will adjust the taxi price according to oil prices. Passengers will be required to pay an extra 1 RMB fuel surcharge for a drive longer than three kilometers when the price of the 93 gasoline is between 6.5 RMB/L and 7.1 RMB/L. Taxi prices will be readjusted if the 93 gasoline costs over 7.1 RMB/L , canceling the fuel surcharge. Currently the gasoline price falls in the range that charges extra money and the new rule is likely to begin in the near future.
