Beijing Taxis Begin Charging Fuel Surcharges

Some taxi drivers around Beijing have begun charging extra for fuel surcharges, following a fuel surcharge invoice and notice handed down to them on November 23rd. The relevant Beijing taxis post the notice in each of their vehicles. The taxi prices are adjusted according to current fuel prices. Passengers are required to pay an extra 1 RMB fuel surcharge when the meter hit 3km and when the price of the 93 gasoline reaches 6.5 RMB to 7.1 RMB per liter. The fuel surcharge goes to the taxi driver.
