Beijing Subway Now World’s Busiest; Crushed Passengers Less Excited

Two months after the opening of four new lines (Line 6 phase 1, Line 10 phase 2, Line 8 south section, Line 9 north section), Beijing’s subway system now see more than 10 million passengers on average per day, according to the Beijing Rail Transit Command Center. The traffic on the 16 lines that make up Beijing’s subway system now surpasses that of the Moscow metro system, making it the new “world’s busiest" (the Moscow metro still wins hands down for “priceless artworks on display” though).
