Beijing Streaker Reveals Identity

Beijing Streaker Reveals Identity
May 20, 2013 By eChinacities.com

We’ve seen a few bizarre streaking incidents unfold in Beijing recently, one of which involved a man holding a sex doll being pursued by a woman, and another recently which saw the same man riding an e-bike naked whilst carrying a giant crucifix. Awesome.

The man behind the mystery has finally come clean, revealing himself as Li Bingyuan, a graduate of the Central Academy for Fine Arts in Beijing. Li announced his identity as the “streaking brother” via Weibo on May 17, and showed photos from his studio of the blow-up sex doll that helped him gain fame.

Li has since stated that he has streaked ten times in Beijing since March 2013, though only six of these instances were caught on camera by passersby. When asked why he decided to take to streaking in the streets, Li explained that he used it as a way to release himself from the feelings of constraint that modern life had given him, though admits that he later did it more to take advantage of the publicity he was receiving.

I used to streak all the time...it was a tradition in my college. Then, I graduated, got an adult life, and handled the stresses created by the constraints of my modern life (what does that even mean? is the modern life really more stressful than the one where you farmed 15 hours a day and died of the plague at 40? I always roll my eyes when some self-indulgent twat in a Starbucks starts talking about the stresses of the modern age) in ways that won't get me arrested. Maybe I seem uptight, but this young man just seems to be pursuing attention for attention's sake--I've always found that behavior to be more irritating than anything else. It is not art.
