Starting August 12th, seven sets of High-speed trains servicing Beijing - Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Suzhou will begin use of Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity High Speed Railway. The switch means a times savings of around 20 minutes of travel time between Beijing and Shanghai – shortening the trip to less than 10 hours. New stops, including Zhenjiang, Wuxi and Suzhou, have also been added to the Beijing-Shanghai route. Ticket prices are to remain the same.
Five sets of High-speed trains traveling between Beijing and Shanghai will now arrive and depart from Shanghai Hongqiao Station instead of Shanghai Railway Station. Trains D301/2, D305/6, D307/8, D313/4 and D321/2 servicing Beijing South to Shanghai Hongqiao, and train D309/10 servicing Beijing South to Hangzhou are all now using the high speed rail.
