After reading this article, my husband & I took our 3 little ones to see the Disney Princesses at the Bird's Nest with insane levels of excitement brewing... well to our dismay & great disappointment, there is nothing remotely close to Disney or Princesses going on at the Bird's Nest National Stadium!!!! There is in fact a snow festival with a high (if u ask me) entrance fee and pay by the hr rentals of fun snow tools like mini sleds & snowball makers. The rentals are cheap but the games & other items for purchase make it feel like a carnival. (You know what I mean when I say carnival if you are from NY). The small hill for sledding was perfect for our kids & they had a blast on it. We didn't sample the larger hill where u can rent inner tubes, but that looked like fantastic fun! The issue I have is that, although a man-made snowscape with sledding & snowball fight opportunities is great, it is not at all what we expected after having read this, and other online articles about the Disney Princess Themed Event at the Bird's Nest! Unless we were at the wrong nest, there is no such thing! We made the best of it & enjoyed the afternoon but it was a real let down after we had such high expectations!
