Beijing switched on its central heating system on November 1st, half a month earlier than the original scheduled date. The decision was made by the Beijing municipal government following heavy snowfalls and a major drop in temperatures over the weekend. So far, only buildings that have been inspected have begun receiving the heat supply, but efforts are currently underway to ensure that all residents will have central heating in the coming days.
