Beijing Has Shut 35 Nightclubs in the Recent Crackdown on Prostitution

On April 11th, Beijing police started a crackdown on prostitution in nightclubs and entertainment centers all around town, closing down 35 night clubs after the raid. Beijing police has stated recently that they will continue to check up on nightclubs and entertainment centers and close them down if prostitution is discovered.

From April 11th to 12th, Beijing police has uncovered 149 gangs that were running prostitution in the different nightclubs in the city and made 1,132 arrests – closing down 31 entertainment centers and nightclubs. Four other nightclubs were also closed down on account of infractions for fire safety and hostesses offering sexual favors for money.
