Beijing Choked by Three Days of Severe Air Pollution
Jul 01, 2013 By eChinacities.com

Unless you were shacked up in a window-less room or away with the fairies all last week, you probably noticed the doomsday-like smog that hovered over the city. In fact, three of the seven days last week were considered heavy pollution days (or “hazardous”) – not very encouraging given the fact that the month of May prompted Beijing to once again feature in the ‘Top 10 most polluted cities in China’ list.

On June 26, visibility was reduced to 200 meters and by 16:00, 18 of Beijing’s air quality monitoring stations recorded severe heavy of pollution. Similar findings were recorded on June 28 and 30 as well.

Time to dig out those face masks again. If you don’t already have one, read this guide on where to buy anti-pollution masks in Beijing.
