Beijing Amps Up Security For ‘Two Sessions’
Mar 05, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Since March 2 Beijing has amped up the capital’s security. Those of you living in Beijing probably would have noticed a lot more police officers roaming the streets, and there are. All leave has been cancelled and 27,000 police officers are out on the streets to maintain order and security during the Two sessions. Security in Beijing is increased every year during this, the parliamentary meetings, but this year sees more than ever since the brutal attack at Kunming train station.

Police have been told to adopt a zero tolerance for anyone seeming to cause trouble. Yesterday leafleting protestors were dragged away from Tiananmen square, according to the BBC.
