Banking & Liquor are China’s Most Profitable Industries

According to 2012 reports from A share-listed companies, the top ten companies with the biggest profits in 2012 were: China Industrial and Commercial Bank, China Construction Bank, Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, China National Petroleum Corporation, Sinopec, Bank of Communications, Shenhua Group Corporation Limited, China Merchants Bank, and China Minsheng Bank. Among the ten, seven of them are banks.

The reports also noted that the country’s liquor industry is its most profitable. The total average gross profit rate in the liquor industry was said to be over 60 percent, with Maotai accounting for 92.27 percent of it.
