Reporters learned on June 1 from officials with Badaling Special Zone, that four parking lots in the Badaling scenic area will be fully upgraded before the National Day, and the road crossing the scenic area is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Currently, S216 Road undertakes the role of a side road of the Badaling Expressway, and various vehicles over the years, have gone through the gateway of the Badaling Great Wall using this side road, which is a potential safety threat for tourists and for the Great Wall itself. Officials with Badaling Special Zone introduced that the road crossing the scenic area, which began construction in 2007, will be completed by the end of this year and will replace the traffic function of S216 Road. Therefore, the Badaling scenic area will realize closed management.
