Anti-burglary Banner at a Residential Community: Won’t Beat You to Death

Anti-burglary Banner at a Residential Community: Won’t Beat You to Death

On March 22nd, a local reporter in Fengcheng City of Jiangxi province received a tip from a Ms. Zhang about some of the “unusual” anti-burglary banners that have shown up around her residential community. Following up on Ms. Zhang’s tip, the reporter contacted several other home owners in the community. Condo owners agreed that the property management company had taken this recent course of action because there has been a spike in burglaries in the community.

From photos taken by home owners, it can be seen that the anti-burglary banners are hung at the main gates of the community and at entrance/exit points of the parking garage. The banners cautioned “burglars, we promise not to beat you to death” and encouraged “catch burglars live and be awarded 3000 RMB.”

So what do the condo owners really thought about this recent anti-burglary initiative? The home owners interviewed said that many of them are amused and had a good laugh about it. A few could be seen taking pictures of the outrageous banners on their phones. A male resident, however, thought the words on the banner extreme and rather inappropriate for public display, even though he sympathizes with the need to discourage burglars.

Stiggs

I've been burgled twice, I hate those bassturds. I would LOVE to catch one in the act. Anyone who thinks the signs are too extreme hasn't woken up to find someone has been in their house while they were sleeping or at work and stolen their stuff.
