The final layer of asphalt was laid at the intersection of Dongxin Road on December 12th at 18:00, allowing the new high-speed road to be opened half a month earlier than expected. According to a related governmental department, after the final layer of asphalt is laid on Jiefang Road next year and the centerlines are redrawn, alternative proposals will be made for four, five or six traffic lanes on the road, with those for five having the greatest feasibility of being accepted. The entire construction project on Jiefang Road will take 200 days, and will conclude at the end of March in 2011.
