All Shanghai Taxis Adopt New Charging Policy on August 1st
Aug 02, 2011 By eChinacities.com

But because the update on taximeters has been implemented in stages, passengers have still occasionally gotten lucky and found 12 RMB taxis. That is no longer possible. Starting August 1st the “update” on Shanghai’s 49,000 cabs has been completed, which means that all taxis in Shanghai are now following the new charging policy.
