This Friday, authorities will unveil a new national standard for air purifiers.

The new national standard will include more specific measurements with regards to performance; for example, the number of cubic units of air per minute delivered.

These regulations are important as companies are jumping in on the booming air purifier market. Ecns news reports that many producers are exaggerating the performance of their products, and misleading consumers.

I love the fairness of air purifiers. Those who can afford clean air, will use energy to have clean air, generating more pollution in the process. Why ? Because coal power plants represents at least 70% of power generation in China. Ho, and regulations with Chinese characteristics. Meanwhile, those too poor to pay for an air purifiers will breath a worse air. Yeah, those people who will not be able to afford the treatment for their cancer.
