Agnes Varda Retrospective Exhibition Now Showing in Wuhan

Part of the 2012 Criosement Festival – an event which aims to strengthen understanding of French culture in China by displaying a series of works by 83 old French film maker/artist/photographer Agnes Varda –is currently exhibiting at the Hubei Museum of Art.

Born in Belgium to French and Greek parents, Varda’s career has spanned over 50 years, during which time she has made numerous award-winning films, art installations and photographs dealing with feminist and social issues. This exhibition will feature ten art installations from recent years, as well as a number of photographs – including self-portraits – and screenings of several of her films.
