Accordionist Richard Galliano and his septet will perform at the Xi’an Concert Hall on October 2. The performance is part of their world tour in honor of the late Argentine accordionist and composer Astor Piazzola. Galliano, born in Cannes with roots in Italy, is Piazzola's last disciple, having accompanied him in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Galliano is known for pioneering the "new style" of accordion in the early 1990's, later winning multiple awards for jazz musicianship. He is widely considered to be the greatest accordionist of the 20th century.
