Nine people have been killed and up to 27 injured at the time of reporting, in a car crash at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport.

The crash was caused by the driver of a red Sedan, who panicked and lost control of her vehicle when someone honked at her. She crashed into a crowd of pedestrians, killing five instantly. Four who were also hit later died in hospital.

Five of the 27 other injured people are in a critical condition in hospital.

Around 30 people were gathered together watching planes take off from a platform when the car ploughed into the crowd. According to airport staff, the platform where they had gathered, wasn’t a pedestrian zone and staff would often come around to clear people from the area.

The 24-year-old driver has been taken in for questioning.

The whole panic thing is an excuse, I think she was just fed up and didn't want to wait patiently and then drove her car into the crowd. I hope she gets the death penalty. Now lets wait for the copycats.

"She panicked and lost control of her vehicle when someone honked at her." W. T. F. Are we talking about the same China? By which I mean that place where you can't go 30 seconds WITHOUT hearing a car horn? I've never seen a Chinese person so much as blink in response to being honked at. --- In other news, a Chinese man panicked when he noticed that there were other people in the street, fell off a bridge and exploded, killing 19 people.
